Taxes

I have one question, where is the universal sacrifice that President Bush keeps taking about during this time of war? The House just voted today to extend President Bush's tax cuts. We're running a huge deficit that somebody is going to have to pay for, services, including those to veterans are being cut, and we are experiencing huge costs for a war in Iraq that is going nowhere.

Yet the wealthiest Americans don't have to sacrifice at all to help. Most of these Americans don't have anyone in their families fighting in the war, government services they rely on aren't being cut, and they get a huge tax break. How is this sacrifice, or better yet, even fair. The wealthiest Americans aren't even paying their fair share.

This is NOT the America that I grew up in or love. I think Harold Pinter's accusations about this country are right. Shame.
